There are so many ways to serve within the Transfiguration family. We believe everyone is a minister by virtue of baptism. You are equipped and empowered to offer your gifts and talents to support the ongoing work of the church. While much of this work is "behind the scenes", it is vital not only to the stability and smooth operation of the parish, but also to the joy and comfort of the community as a whole. Opportunities in at Transfiguration include:
Pastoral Care - Transfiguration takes to heart reaching out to care for others in times of need and celebration. The Pastoral Care team offers comfort by providing meals to those who are recuperating from physical challenges or bereaved due to the loss of loved ones.
Eucharistic Visitors – Eucharistic Visitors are trained and licensed to take the sacrament from the altar following the Sunday service to people who are unable to attend church, whether they are in the hospital or nursing facility or at home. Pop Up Pantry - The pantry needs help stocking shelves and helping shoppers taking their groceries to the car. |
Office Angels – Our office angels provide support to our Parish Administrator by completing a variety of tasks including answering the phone, folding the Sunday bulletin, and finalizing parish newsletters. Office Angels volunteer on Friday mornings and at other times as needed.
Worship Minister – The are a variety of ways to assist during worship including: usher, lay reader, chalice bearer, or acolyte. Some of these ministries will require training and/or licensing by the bishop. Towel Ministry - June 14-19 we'll host up to 15 youth doing mission work consisting of light maintenance in homes of our elderly neighbors. |
