Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
The years 2020 and 2021 challenged the world in many ways, and Transfiguration maintained our sense of family by staying connected virtually. We pray every day that COVID-19 and its variants become a memory. Your support is needed. Becky and I marvel at your hospitality and commitment to progressing our lovely community. In December of 2020, we moved into the new Little House Rectory. This move has given us a new sense of place and belonging, and we commit ourselves as deeply as we can to our parish's mission and ministry, as well as progressing our Saluda community and loving and serving our neighbors.
At Transfiguration, we worship together, share passionately at Adult Forums, break bread in fellowship, and dream of ways that the parish can respond to God’s call as the hands and feet of Christ in Saluda and our Diocese. These dreams have produced an annual youth mission trip hosted on our campus, as well as a vibrant new grocery ministry, The Pop Up Pantry of Saluda that serves over sixty families each week (with as many as ninety families) with groceries provided by MANNA Foodbank in Asheville, area grocery stores, as well as local farmers and restaurants.
The stakes are high because we’re working for God! My prayer is that we as our parish family can preserve the history and tradition of spreading God’s love and hope to the world. Please give generously.
Faithfully,
The Rev. Chip Broadfoot+
